ABOUT ME

I have experience with both furniture and object conservation from both studies and work, but I definitely consider myself an object conservator first and foremost. I am especially interested in modern objects, manufactured from 19th century onwards. Although I have also been known to work on the occasional archaeological object.

Apart from conservation I am interested in a variety of crafts and historical techniques. Before starting my career in conservation I graduated as a textile artisan and have since then experimented not only with textiles but also other materials such as antler, wood and metals. I believe that working with different materials helps me better understand their characteristics which in turn translates into more competent conservation decision making.

In the future I hope to be able to carry on working as an object conservator but also gain more experience in the other aspects of conservation such as public engagement.
