CERAMIC CANDLEHOLDERS

The objects are three candleholders from a private client. It appeared that the objects had been dropped at some point as they were all missing pieces. Some of the detached pieces from the objects were still accounted for but some had been lost.
The aim of the treatment was to make the objects look as if they had never been broken in the first place, as per the clients wishes. After the tratment they were going to go back to being used so the reparations needed to be strong enough to withstand repeated handling.
The objects were glued back together using epoxy. The missing areas were filled with putty made out of the same epoxy mixed with microballoons and various pigments to match the infills to the original surface.
