PERSPEX MOUNTS

The gallery below shows a few examples of perspex mounts used for supporting objects while on display.

A oerspex mount was made to support the various parts of the object as well as to keep the whole object in a better position in terms of viewing.

Perspex clips were also made for keeping the lid of the object in place.

A set of metal plates hed been hung with metal vires that were scratching the edges of the objects. The aim was to replace the hanging system with something that would not damage the object and would offer them better support.

In the case of one of the plates, the placement of the new mounts had to be chosen carefully because the metal on the plate showed signs of cracking. The new mounts had to be placed in sections were the metal was undamaged.

Different sized brackets were made out of perspex.

Holes were drilled so that the mounts could be attached to the back of the display cases with screws.

The placement of the mounts was checked before they were put in place.

The placement of the mounts was checked before they were put in place.

The board from the previous pictures was used as a templete to determine the placement of the mounts.

The mounts were very descreet.

The other plates were in better condition and a vider mount was placed under them. Two smaller prackets were placed on either side of the objects to stop them from toppling over or moving sideways.

The mounts were still fairly descreet.
